Hai!!
Masih lagi terkenang aktiviti Eksplorasi Bahasa semalam, saya teringat lagu yang kami terpaksa nyanyikan semasa berada di stesen terakhir. Bunyinya begini :
Lumput su kutuk lumput,
lumputluh tunggu-tunggu,
cuputlah uduk cuput,
cuputluh bungun pugu-pugu..

Hi!
ReplyDelete1. Murid originally means the one whom in need. It's an Arabic derived from rootword A-R-D (arada).
But in Arabic the meaning of the word is not student. It was 'dimelayukan'. In Arabic student is talib (pl. tullab).
2. That's true. Another example of 'dimelayukan'. In kelantan/pattani malay dialect it means apple. Tuffah. Older generation still using this word.
3. Jemala actually from Arabic word 'jamala'. It means mount or burden. It's from root word J-M-L. Camel in Arabic is called 'jamal' - animal that carrying mount/burden.
But if the root word is 'jamula', which also spelled J-M-L in Arabic it bring means to gather or sum-up. Different harakat in Arabic brings very big different means. Its the root word of 'jumlah' or total/nett.
What's up, I check your blogs regularly. Your writing style is awesome, keep up the good work!
